We steadily increase the proportion of green loans

The proportion of our green loans increased to 22 per cent of our total lending in 2023. We have set the ESG target that our green loans must account for 25 per cent of our total lending by 2025.

By end-2023, we had 1,008 outstanding green loans with a total value of DKK 32.6 billion.

Our green financing is based on our Green Bond Framework 2022, and we issue green bonds based on the green loans that we offer to our customers.

Since 2017, we have issued green bonds to support local green transition with financing at the lowest possible cost. In 2023, we issued our eighth green bond. By end-2023, our total green bond issuances totalled DKK 27.9 billion.

Facts

  • At end-2023, green loans accounted for 22 per cent of our total lending. In 2022, green loans accounted for 21 per cent.
  • 12 per cent of our total bond issuances were green by end-2023. In 2022, the ratio was 10 per cent.

Thanks to our customers' ambitions for the green transition that support the government's climate goals, our green pipeline is solid. In 2023, we introduced a catalogue of inspiration for the financing of opportunities at KommuneKredit to increase awareness among our customers, and in 2024, we expect to include the first leases in our green portfolio.
